Much like the H1, H2, H3 – H6 headings, bold, italics and underlining are also meta descriptions that search engine spiders read.

Bold, Italics and underline help with on page seo factors.

It is not necessary to do all three in a blog post , but highlighting your keywords words/word a few times throughout the post will suffice.

Using Bold, Italics, & Underlinebold italics underline

When using these font options, be weary of over use.

Throughout my blog post you will notice I mainly use bold to highlight important content that I want a reader to take note of. I would advise that you do the same. Since bold font stands out on a page, use this option for important phrases and keywords throughout your blog post. It is not necessary to bold your keywords every chance you get.

The Italics I mainly use as an undertone in my blog post. Not necessarily pertinent information that is important but more as an opinion or a side note for someone to take into consideration.

Underline I hardly use. If you do see the underline is used with keywords or highlighting links.

With the three text options available it is good to take note of what works for you as well as what your readers respond to.
